Bangladesh (the official name is the People's Republic of Bangladesh) is a country in South Asia, bordered by India to the north, east and west, and by Myanmar to the south. The country’s capital is Dhaka. The currency unit is the Bangladeshi Taka (BDT). The main sectors of the country’s economy are agriculture and textile industry.

Debt securities are traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange. Bangladesh government bond market is represented by Treasury Bills (securities with the maturity less than one year) and Bonds (securities with the maturity equal or more than one year).
