Investment category

Investment category of a investment fund or ETF is a set of key assets and/or financial instruments that constitute the core of fund's property in the collective ownership of shareholders. Investment categories may be: equity, bonds - with division by sectors, issuers and specialization (high yield, fixed income, inflation), money and currency market instruments, precious metals, cryptocurrencies, real estate, commodities or a mixed portfolio. Investment categories may also differ by geography of the issuer/issue, and currency of the net assets value and share’s fair price.
