The Gold/SP500 Ratio is a "tug-of-war" indicator between defensive assets and risky investments. It shows which asset is currently in high demand among large capital holders: real gold or the American economy. This ratio is calculated by dividing the price of gold by the price of the S&P 500. When the ratio increases, gold prices rise faster than stock prices, indicating that investors are nervous about inflation or a potential crisis. This leads to a shift of capital towards the "safe haven" of gold.
