The Lean Hogs index represents a CFD on lean hog carcasses, tracking the financially settled lean hog futures traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and serves as a tool for hedging and speculation in the meat industry of the United States, where it acts as a price benchmark for the global pork market. In November 2025, prices ranged from 77.80 cents/lb to 82.60 cents/lb with an average level of 79.54 cents/lb. The index price is based on the contract for difference of lean hogs, tracking financially settled lean hog futures traded on the CME.
