The Beef index represents a CFD on beef, tracking the cash-settled live cattle futures traded on the Brazilian B3 exchange, and is used for risk management in the agricultural sector of Brazil, where it serves as a price benchmark for the beef market in Latin America. In November 2025, prices ranged from 321.25 BRL/kg to 323.70 BRL/kg with an average level of 322.19 BRL/kg. The index price is based on the contract for difference of feeder cattle, tracking cash-settled live cattle futures traded on B3; live cattle is a male steer with at least sixteen net arrobas (512 pounds) carcass weight and a maximum age of forty-two months.
