The uranium U3O8 futures contract is a financial instrument traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), used for hedging price risks in nuclear energy, serving as a key price benchmark on the global nuclear fuel market with major producers in Kazakhstan, Canada, and Australia. In November 2025, prices ranged from 75.85 USD/lb to 80.80 USD/lb with an average level of 77.33 USD/lb. The index price is based on continuous financially settled futures of triuranium octoxide U3O8, traded on the CME.
