The price of the index is based on the continuous physically settled futures of natural gas loaded at Henry Hub (Louisiana, USA). It is a benchmark for the US gas market. In the United States, trading is carried out in US dollars per million British thermal units (million BTU). 1 million BTU equals to 1.0551 GJ. A thousand cubic meters of gas (m³) is equal to 37.7 GJ. To obtain the price of US natural gas per thousand cubic meters, the price must be multiplied by 35.3520993.
