The Corruption Index or the Corruption Perception Index is an annual composite index that measures the perception of corruption in the public sector in different countries. The index is prepared by Transparency International based on polls conducted among experts and in the business community. Based on this information, the countries of the world are ranked on a scale from 0 to 100 points. Zero denotes the highest level of corruption perception and one hundred the lowest. The Corruption Index has been calculated and published annually since 1995.
