The Russian export oil mixture is obtained by mixing heavy high-sulfur oil produced in the Urals and the Volga region with light Siberian Light grade oil from Western Siberia. The main characteristics of Urals include a density from 31 to 32° API and a sulfur content that can reach 1.3-1.4%.Urals is considered a marker grade of oil and is used to determine prices for Russian oil on international markets. Its value is usually set at a discount relative to the price of Brent crude oil, which is due to its lower quality characteristics.
